Samsung Electronics said on the 18th it will feature 43 representative works from the Kunsthistorisches Museum Vienna in its Samsung TV-exclusive art subscription service, "Samsung Art Store."
With this collaboration, the Samsung Art Store has added the Kunsthistorisches Museum Vienna's collection, following the Louvre Museum in Paris, France, and the Prado Museum in Madrid, Spain.
The newly released lineup includes Pieter Bruegel the Elder's "The Tower of Babel," Johannes Vermeer's "The Art of Painting," and Gustav Klimt's "Nuda Veritas."
Viewers can also enjoy landscapes of Venice and Vienna by Canaletto and Bernardo Bellotto, as well as Giuseppe Arcimboldo's "Summer." Works by Rubens, Velázquez, Caravaggio, Titian, Rembrandt, and Raphael are also offered.
Samsung Electronics applied its display's anti-reflection technology to the high-resolution artworks provided by the museum. A special coating on the screen surface disperses light at multiple angles, reducing glare and allowing viewers to appreciate the works clearly even in sunlight or under indoor lighting.
Jonathan Fine, director general of the Kunsthistorisches Museum Vienna Group, said, "We are now able to share the museum's world-class collection with global audiences through the Samsung Art Store," and added, "We hope more people can enjoy masterpieces without being bound by place, and that the emotions they feel on screen lead to actual visits to the museum."
Dario Casari, head of Samsung Electronics' Austria and Switzerland subsidiary, said, "Through this partnership, we will bring Vienna's world-class cultural heritage, preserved through history, to audiences worldwide with Samsung's display technology."
The Samsung Art Store is a subscription service that lets users view works by major museums and artists on Samsung TVs. It currently offers more than 5,000 works in 4K resolution.
It is available on Samsung Art TV models, including this year's OLED (SH95), The Frame, The Frame Pro, Micro RGB, and Neo QLED.
