Lyu Jae-cheol, LG Electronics chief executive officer (CEO and president), received 1.896 billion won in the first half of this year, including salary and bonus.
According to the semiannual report disclosed by LG Electronics on the 14th, Lyu received 807 million won in salary and 1.089 billion won in bonus in the first half. LG Electronics said it reflected the fact that last year the home appliance (HS) business unit posted 25.7 trillion won in sales and 1.3 trillion won in operating profit when calculating Lyu's bonus. Lyu served as head of the HS business unit through last year.
The company said it also reflected in the bonus calculation the results of strengthening quality, expense, and delivery (QCD) competitiveness; "winning research and development (R&D)"; securing the soundness of the business portfolio; and focused execution of artificial intelligence transformation (AX).
Cho Joo-wan, the former president who stepped down as CEO in March, received a total of 5.285 billion won in the first half. That included 510 million won in salary, 673 million won in bonus, and 4.102 billion won in retirement income. Reflected in Cho's bonus were last year's LG Electronics total sales of 89.2 trillion won and operating profit of 2.5 trillion won, as well as achievements in business structure improvement, strengthening growth engines, winning R&D, and AI transition.
LG Electronics' total compensation for all directors and auditors in the first half of this year was 7.822 billion won, with average compensation per person at 1.117 billion won.
