Nvidia will expand the application of the artificial intelligence (AI)-based graphics technology "Deep Learning super sampling (DLSS)" to four of the latest PC games, including "Gears of War: E-Day."
Nvidia said on the 14th that it will support DLSS technology in "Gears of War: E-Day," "Phantom Blade Zero," "Hell Let Loose: Vietnam" and "No More Room in Hell 2." DLSS is a technology that uses AI to increase the resolution of game screens or generate new frames to improve image quality and frame rates. DLSS 4.5 applies "super resolution" using a second-generation AI model and "dynamic multi-frame generation," which automatically adjusts the number of generated frames.
"Gears of War: E-Day," which will be released on Oct. 6, is currently running an open multiplayer beta. The PC beta supports DLSS super resolution and Nvidia Reflex, which reduces input lag. After the official release, it will support DLSS 4.5 and ray tracing technology.
The action role-playing game (RPG) "Phantom Blade Zero" is scheduled to be released on Oct. 29. On GeForce RTX PCs and laptops, it supports DLSS 4.5 super resolution and multi-frame generation, and applies ray tracing technology to reflections and shadows.
DLSS 4.5 super resolution is also applied to "Hell Let Loose: Vietnam," which was released the previous day. The game is a 50 vs. 50 multiplayer title set during the Vietnam War. It was originally scheduled to launch in June, but the developer delayed the release date to improve performance and stability.
The eight-player co-op zombie shooting game "No More Room in Hell 2" expanded DLSS 4.5 support as it ended early access. In addition to existing DLSS super resolution and frame generation, dynamic multi-frame generation is available on the GeForce RTX 50 series. In Nvidia's list of supported games, this title is also listed as supporting DLSS 4.5 super resolution and up to sixfold multi-frame generation.
