MasAuto, a heavy truck Autonomous Driving startup, said on the 13th that it will unveil a full-size heavy trailer truck based on an artificial intelligence (AI) Autonomous Driving model for the first time at "AME 2026," the 2026 Autonomous Driving Mobility Industry Expo, to be held this month.
At this exhibition, MasAuto will display a full-size heavy trailer truck based on Hyundai Motor Xcient equipped with its in-house developed, camera-based end-to-end (E2E) AI Autonomous Driving model "MarsNet," which it is operating. It will also showcase a full-size version of "CoPilot," a camera-based Level 2+ Autonomous Driving solution tailored to the driving characteristics of heavy trucks.
In July, MasAuto became the first in Korea to obtain approval from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport for paid transportation of trailer freight based on an E2E AI system. Based on this, it plans to begin an export freight Autonomous Driving transport service on three main routes starting in the third quarter of this year.
MasAuto, which is currently conducting paid transportation with 15 Autonomous Driving trucks in both Korea and the United States, is operating a roughly 7,000-kilometer round-trip route in the United States linking the Port of Long Beach in California and the state of Georgia under a "Team Korea" setup. Through this, it has accumulated 2.5 million kilometers of Autonomous Driving and secured 20 million kilometers of real-world driving data.
Park Il-su, CEO of MasAuto, said, "It is meaningful that we can directly showcase to industry officials the Autonomous Driving trailer technology that has completed verification on real roads through this AME 2026," and added, "Beyond a simple tech demonstration, we will create diverse collaboration opportunities as a solution that can be applied immediately to logistics operations."
Meanwhile, AME 2026, to be held at Coex in Samseong-dong, Seoul, from the 25th to the 27th, is Korea's leading Autonomous Driving-focused exhibition co-hosted by Coex, the Korea Autonomous Driving Industry Association, the Korea International Trade Association (KITA), and the Federation of Middle Market Enterprises of Korea (FOMEK).
