SK shieldus's physical security brand ADT Caps said on the 12th that it is strengthening measures to cope with extreme heat to protect the health and working environment of field employees.
Recently, CEO Min Kisik and Chief Safety and Health Officer (CSPO) Shin Ucheol visited ADT Caps' New Daegu branch, East Daegu branch, and Yangsan branch to directly inspect summer safety management and encourage field employees. The visit was part of the companywide safety culture campaign "Safe dispatch today as well."
The company said the management expressed gratitude for the hard work of the dispatch employees responsible for customer sites and emphasized heat wave response rules and the importance of sufficient rest. Based on feedback raised in the field, the company will continue to expand support so employees can work in a more comfortable environment.
ADT Caps checks employees' health conditions before work and whether they are in a heat illness-sensitive group, and adjusts work schedules and intensity to prevent heat-related illnesses. It recommends sufficient rest and hydration and provides saline glucose and personal tumblers. Outdoor work is minimized in the afternoon, when the heat is most intense.
The company runs a preventive management system that includes checking health conditions frequently before, during, and after work, providing heat illness prevention education and first-aid training, and granting employees the "right to stop work" so they can immediately halt tasks and respond quickly if abnormal symptoms occur.
The company said that in the first half of this year it expanded in-house risk assessments to proactively identify and improve potential harmful and hazardous factors, further advanced its safety and health management system, and strengthened safety training for managers. It is also continuing safety management activities by conducting regular field inspections led by regional safety and health managers and continuously improving risk factors.
Alongside this, through the companywide safety culture campaign "Safe dispatch today as well," the company is promoting activities to make wearing personal protective equipment and complying with safety rules part of daily routine and to establish a culture in which employees themselves practice safety.
Shin, the CSPO, said, "The most important principle is to ensure that the employees responsible for customer sites can work in good health and safety even amid record-breaking heat," adding, "ADT Caps will continue to strengthen prevention-focused safety management to create a work environment where employees can work with peace of mind, and based on that, we will provide customers with even more stable and reliable services."
