Hancom will load its self-developed agentic operating system (OS) onto French firefighting robots as it moves to target the physical AI market. The company plans to expand the scope of the agentic OS as a platform that centrally manages industrial robots, going beyond simply shifting corporations' work environments to focus on artificial intelligence (AI).
Hancom said on the 12th that its subsidiary Hancom Lifecare signed an exclusive domestic sales and technology development cooperation agreement for firefighting robots with French robotics corporation Shark Robotics. The contract period is five years.
The exclusive sales targets are the large firefighting and rescue robot Colossus and the fire door blocking robot Rhyno Protect. For the next five years, Shark Robotics cannot sell the two products in Korea through other distributors.
Hancom Lifecare also secured domestic sales rights for Shark Robotics' other robot lineups. In addition to sales, it will handle on-site training, maintenance, and after-sales service. Depending on discussions between the two companies, it is also possible to supply products under Hancom's sole brand.
Hancom will integrate its self-developed agentic OS with Colossus and Rhyno Protect. The agentic OS is not a system for using individual AIs one by one, but an operating system that controls and manages multiple AI agents within a single framework. It can be used to interpret information collected by firefighting robots in real time, organize danger zones and entry routes, and deliver them to the chain of command.
Starting with this collaboration, Hancom will expand the application of the agentic OS to industrial robots and make a full-fledged entry into the physical AI business. Software, interfaces, and integration modules developed solely by Hancom will belong to Hancom. Shark Robotics will provide technical documents and specifications for the robots, interface information, and technical support.
Beginning with firefighting robots, Hancom plans to broaden its application scope to industrial robots used in specialized environments such as logistics, construction, and defense. This is because even if robot manufacturers and specifications differ, they can be managed under a single OS.
