CJ OliveNetworks said on the 11th it completed building a next-generation warehouse management system (WMS) at HD Hyundai Electric's Cheongju power distribution campus.
HD Hyundai Electric's Cheongju power distribution campus is a future-oriented smart production base that began operation in Dec. last year. On a site of about 2.5 million square feet, the size of 12 soccer fields, it integrated production, design, and logistics functions that had been dispersed across Anseong, Ulsan, and Busan. It produces more than 50,000 types of power distribution equipment, including air circuit breakers (ACB), vacuum circuit breakers (VCB), and molded case circuit breakers (MCCB).
CJ OliveNetworks built a next-generation logistics system that consolidation enterprise resource planning (ERP), manufacturing execution system (MES), warehouse control system (WCS), logistics automation equipment, and external partner systems into a single platform and implemented an integrated control scheme based on real-time data.
In addition, by applying an integrated control dashboard, intelligent work management (WAVE), interface standardization, and user-centered screens, it enabled more intuitive tracking of logistics flows and improved work efficiency.
The company noted that by linking with various logistics automation equipment such as Autonomous Driving mobile robots (AMR), automated case-handling robots (ACR), and logistics shuttles, it can operate the entire process—from material receiving through depalletizing, line delivery, and finished goods shipments—on a data-driven basis.
On this basis, it completed an operating scheme that integrates management of production, logistics, and equipment data.
HD Hyundai Electric expects that the introduction of this system will establish an "intelligent logistics operation foundation" that connects material receiving through finished goods shipments.
Song Won-cheol, head of smart logistics and factory at CJ OliveNetworks, said, "This project goes beyond simply building a logistics system and is a solid starting point for manufacturing logistics AX (AI transformation) centered on AI-based data utilization," adding, "Based on the logistics and manufacturing digital transformation experience CJ OliveNetworks has accumulated, we will continue to support customers in strengthening their global competitiveness."
