Artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure corporations Elice said on the 11th it was selected as a graphics processing unit (GPU) resource supplier for the government's "2026 AI research computing support project."

In this project, totaling 15.3 billion won and supported by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the Institute of Information & communications Technology Planning & Evaluation (IITP), suppliers will provide a cloud-based high-performance GPU infrastructure and optimal research environment so that researchers at Korea's universities and research institutes can study and develop large-scale AI models and Generative AI.

In the supplier selection bidding, Elice was ultimately chosen as one of multiple contractors amid competition with large cloud corporations. Based on its experience executing similar projects such as large-scale national GPU leasing projects, it proposed an integrated project implementation framework that covers the entire cycle, including provisioning high-performance computing resources, supporting AI training and development environments, and providing operations and technical support.

Elice plans to support researchers in immersing themselves in advanced AI model research by providing an end-to-end AI cloud built with its own technology—from modular AI data centers (AI PMDC) to cloud infrastructure virtualization (ECI), AI development environments, data management, and model deployment (ML API)—so they can leverage high-performance GPU resources.

The project period runs from July this year to March next year. Elice will stably supply the high-performance GPU resources essential for large-scale AI research during this period and support cluster configurations that consolidate multiple GPUs with high-speed networks.

Kim Jae-won, CEO of Elice, said, "We will continue to provide reliable services so that researchers across industry, academia and research in Korea can focus on research and model development without spending time building AI infrastructure."
