Kakao Entertainment said on the 10th that it created two new award institutional sectors linked to its music platform Melon for Tencent Music's "2026 TIMA," to be held at Hong Kong Kai Tak Stadium on the 22nd–23rd.
"TIMA" is a music awards show organized by Tencent Music Entertainment Group (TME), China's largest music platform corporations, and this year marks its second edition following last year. It is a large-scale music event that combines an awards show and performances, with artists from around the world participating. This year, a total of 28 K-pop artists, including Super Junior, Stray Kids, TOMORROW X TOGETHER, aespa, IVE, PLAVE, RIIZE, BABYMONSTER, NCT WISH, and ALLDAY PROJECT, will attend TIMA.
The award institutional sectors newly created by Kakao Entertainment are "Melon Music Choice," which selects artists loved by fans for diverse activities on Melon, and "Global K Artist," based on the integrated "Global K Chart" for China, Japan, and Korea introduced in June. A Melon official said, "By creating these TIMA award institutional sectors, we plan to communicate more closely with fans around the world and build a robust K-pop fandom network."
