Mobility platform GCOO will launch a campaign to promote proper parking etiquette for shared bicycles and e-scooters.
GCOO said on Aug. 7 that it will run a campaign with citizens to build a proper parking culture.
The company said actor Um Tae-gu joined the campaign, boosting visibility and participation. In the campaign video, the GCOO bicycle, which usually helps citizens get around, appears with an introverted concept that prefers a quiet corner after a ride rather than the middle of a path. When a GCOO bicycle is left incorrectly in the middle of a sidewalk or on the road, Um appears as a fixer to move it back to its place, delivering the message and importance of proper parking.
During the campaign, Um Tae-gu's voice guidance will also be available on GCOO bicycles and e-scooters.
A "proper parking pledge" event that citizens can join directly will also run. GCOO will present proper parking guidelines to users and collect pledges to help spread the parking culture. It will guide four recommended parking zones—next to exterior walls and fences, at the edge of sidewalks, beside street trees, and around bicycle racks—and will provide a GCOO discount coupon to all users who take the pledge.
Various prize events are also prepared. During the campaign, handwritten letters asking citizens for proper parking will be attached to GCOO bicycles and e-scooters. Enter the lucky code in the letter into the GCOO app to apply for prizes such as an Apple MacBook and gift cards for Olive Young and Baemin.
In addition, 30 participants who watch the campaign video on GCOO's official YouTube channel and leave the correct answer in the comments to the quiz "Guess the 4 parking spots GCOO likes" will receive a chicken e-gift card.
