Koh Young Technology will build a second production center at its Yeoju industrial complex in Gyeonggi Province to meet rising demand for artificial intelligence (AI) servers and inspection equipment for advanced semiconductors.
Koh Young said on the 6th it will establish a second production center with a total floor area of about 12,800 square meters, the same size as the existing Yeoju production center. Completion is targeted for Aug. 2027.
The expansion is an investment to increase production capacity for its flagship 3D precision measurement inspection equipment and to secure a production base for new businesses such as medical robots. Koh Young plans to strengthen the production and supply system for flagship and new business products through the second production center.
Koh Young noted, "As global big tech corporations increase investments in AI data centers, demand is rapidly rising for 3D inspection equipment used in AI server and advanced semiconductor production," adding, "Record-high quarterly sales in recent quarters have also been driven by this surge in demand."
The new production center will build a production system not only for 3D inspection equipment but also for new business products such as industrial X-ray inspection equipment. It also plans to establish the production base needed to expand overseas sales of medical robots and to diversify its medical business lineup, including surgical navigation.
A Koh Young official said, "Demand for 3D inspection equipment is growing rapidly, led by global AI server and advanced semiconductor customers, translating into sales growth," adding, "With this expansion, we will meet increasing customer demand and accelerate new business initiatives."
