LG Electronics is running a pop-up space where visitors can experience the installation method and cleaning performance of its new robot vacuum, LG Hom-Bot AI Objet Collection Roni.
LG Electronics said on the 5th that it will operate a Roni experience zone on the first floor of Hyundai Department Store's Pangyo branch through the 12th. It set up different interiors for spaces in the home, such as the kitchen and living room, so visitors can see how the robot vacuum and station are installed. Roni experience events will also be held in sequence at Lotte Department Store's Incheon branch (on the 14th–23rd) and Shinsegae Department Store's Gangnam branch (on the 25th–31st).
Initial sales of Roni, released on the 2nd of last month, were about three times higher than existing robot vacuum models that combine suction and mopping. Among new products released since LG Electronics first introduced a robot vacuum in Korea in 2003, it recorded the highest initial sales.
The experience zone displays the "Hidden Station," which places the product in the toe-kick space under the kitchen sink, and the "Objet Station," designed in a side table form. The Hidden Station installs the robot vacuum and station in the lower kitchen space so they are not visible from the outside. With a height of 15 cm, it can be installed without separate base cabinet work or reducing existing storage space.
It also applies a structure in which the door closes when Roni returns to the station after cleaning. As a result, it reduces exposure of the camera mounted on the robot vacuum to the outside. The Objet Station is designed for use as a side table in the living room or bedroom. The product height, handle thickness, and the position for removing the water tank are designed so users can handle them easily. LG Electronics applied a 100-degree Celsius steam function to both the Roni main unit and the station. It is the world's first to equip both the robot vacuum main unit and the station with a 100°C steam function.
Roni uses 30-watt (W) suction power to draw in dust and debris from the floor and wipes stuck-on dirt with a mop that rotates 180 times per minute. The experience zone also features an event where visitors can directly test key cleaning functions.
