Lotte Innovate's electric vehicle charging subsidiary EVSIS said on the 5th that it will begin a member authentication service linked with Samsung Wallet, a domestic mobile simple payment service, starting at 10 a.m. that day.
With the introduction of this service, EVSIS users can now use member authentication via Samsung Wallet in addition to the existing one-touch charging, QR code scan, physical membership card, and app-based NFC authentication. The company expects this to further improve access to charging stations and user convenience.
EVSIS provides the service in two ways depending on how users operate the app. EVSIS app users can add their membership card to Samsung Wallet, while Samsung Wallet users can register the EVSIS membership card in the Wallet app for authentication.
The company said it pursued this collaboration in consideration of the fact that Samsung Wallet has the largest number of monthly active users (MAU) among domestic mobile simple payment services and that there are many Galaxy smartphone users.
EVSIS has been building living-area-centered charging infrastructure, and has secured technological capabilities by winning the Ministry of Environment's public fast charger construction project and obtaining the industry's first intelligent information product certification. The company plans to use this linkage with Samsung Wallet as an opportunity to further enhance customer convenience.
EVSIS CEO Oh Yeong-sik said, "The introduction of the Samsung Wallet authentication service is intended to broaden choices so customers can use charging services in the way most familiar in daily life," adding, "We will continue to expand cooperation with various platforms centered on user convenience to improve charging accessibility."
