LG CNS said on the 5th that it won the Korea Airports Corporation (KAC) project to establish the "KAC AI Master Plan (ISMP)" and will develop an artificial intelligence (AI) transformation (AX) strategy for 14 airports nationwide.
The project is to prepare a mid- to long-term strategy and execution roadmap to apply AI across the operations of 14 airports nationwide, including Gimpo, Gimhae, and Jeju airports. After being selected by the Ministry of Economy and Finance as an "AI leading institution," Korea Airports Corporation (KAC) has been pursuing a total of 50 AI innovation tasks since 2025 with the goal of "realizing future airports through AI innovation."
In this project, LG CNS will flesh out Korea Airports Corporation (KAC)'s AI strategy and establish an AI master plan to apply to airport operations. To that end, it plans to carry out the entire process, from AI strategy consulting to AI and data architecture design, AI governance establishment, proof of concept (PoC) for key tasks, and establishing follow-up project execution plans.
The key focus areas are ▲ optimizing airport operations ▲ innovating customer service ▲ building a safety management system. A representative example presented is an agentic AI-based safety management service. When an abnormal situation occurs in the airport, an on-site employee inputs details by voice, and an AI agent automatically organizes them to draft a report while also guiding response procedures by situation.
LG CNS plans to apply its accumulated AX execution experience across various industries such as public, finance, manufacturing, and logistics, along with capabilities in Generative AI, agentic AI, cloud, and data technologies, to this project to improve airport operational efficiency and customer experience. Taking this as a starting point, it also plans to expand AX projects into the airport and aviation sector.
