Red Hat said on the 5th that it launched Asago, an open-source community project that automatically converts corporations' artificial intelligence (AI) governance policies into safe, operational AI systems.
The goal is to consolidation development and compliance procedures and tools that have been scattered across engineering teams and compliance teams into a single flow that connects everything from policy creation to audits and tracking. Through this, the company aims to shorten the readiness period for operating AI systems—from what used to take months to years—to a matter of days.
A Red Hat official said the company launched Asago because "corporations are facing an environment where they cannot tolerate innovation being delayed by months of manual reviews or unmanaged shadow AI operating without proper safeguards."
As a member of the Open Secure AI Alliance, an AI security coalition led by Nvidia, Asago extends the collaborations Red Hat has pursued. In practice, Asago plans to convert complex corporations' AI governance policies into real operational control systems based on a standardized open-source platform.
Steven Hults, Red Hat vice president of AI engineering institutional sector, said, "As corporations move from experimental AI pilots to long-running autonomous agents, putting clear operational guardrails in place is becoming a core infrastructure requirement," and added, "Asago is the next stage of enterprise AI that provides automatic consolidation between corporations' policy definitions and agents in live operation."
