Nexus said on the 4th that second-quarter revenue was 5.8 billion won and the operating loss was 5.3 billion won. Revenue fell 37% from a year earlier, and operating profit turned to a loss.
However, net income in the second quarter was 8.1 billion won, turning to a profit as gains from the acquisition of ONE store were reflected.
On a first-half basis, total revenue was 17.4 billion won, up 9.4% from a year earlier, with an operating loss of 5.2 billion won and net income of 5 billion won. Nexus said platform revenue rose sharply as it directly participated in operating the Blockchain network "Onechain."
Nexus will fully enter the game platform business in the second half of this year through ONE store. In Aug., it will add an "AI Games" tab so games made with AI will begin service in the ONE store ecosystem, and it plans to load the embedded wallet "OnePocket" into the app. At the end of Aug., it will simultaneously launch a global version of ONE store with Blockchain technology applied in 124 countries worldwide to roll out a full-fledged platform business.
It will also team up with China's Tencent to introduce, starting in Aug., games such as "Run to Survive," "Mythic Legend," and "Oh! Yang Is Here," which ranked high in China, the world's largest game market, on the mini-game platform "ONE Play."
It is also pushing a transition to a game community platform. The participatory promotion ONE Quest will be integrated into ONE store beyond Telegram, wallet, and web, and the streamer platform ONE Wave will also be combined with the domestic and global versions of ONE store.
Chief Executive Jang Hyun-kuk said, "The second quarter saw a sharp increase in net income thanks to the acquisition of ONE store," adding, "From the third quarter, we expect to see revenue grow and operating profit improve."
