LG Electronics moved to strengthen its B2B business by expanding supplies of commercial laundry appliances in Southeast Asia, following North America and Europe.
LG Electronics said it recently completed supplying commercial washers and dryers to 630 stores operated by Trendy Wash, Thailand's No. 2 laundromat franchise. It plans to supply additional products to more than 400 new stores opening this year.
Trendy Wash chose LG Electronics products, giving high marks to their durability, energy efficiency, and management solutions that allow efficient operation of multiple stores.
LG Electronics is expanding its business base not only in Thailand but also in the Philippines by broadening cooperation with major local distribution channels such as ELS, Big Wash, and Express Clean.
Southeast Asia is a market where demand for commercial laundry steadily grows due to a hot, humid climate and rapid urbanization. The coin laundromat market is also growing quickly, centered on areas with many single-person households and rental residents, as well as concentrations of tourists and long-term stayers.
LG Electronics is expanding into Vietnam, Cambodia, Singapore, Malaysia, and Indonesia. Recently, in Hanoi, Vietnam, it opened the smart laundry store "Bee Laundry" with local partner WW Vietnam. The store serves as a reference space where, alongside laundry services for general customers, partners and investors considering entry into the laundry business can experience products and store operation solutions firsthand.
Buoyed by business expansion, performance in Southeast Asia's commercial laundry appliances is also continuing to grow. Last year, LG Electronics' sales of commercial laundry appliances in Southeast Asia increased by about 60% from a year earlier. By country, sales in Thailand more than doubled, while sales in the Philippines rose more than 1.5 times.
LG Electronics is also expanding its business in North America and Europe. This month, it launched "LG Professional," a brand of large-capacity commercial laundry appliances of 20 kg or more, in the European market. The lineup consists of six models, including washers, dryers, and all-in-one washer-dryers, and AI analyzes the load weight to automatically optimize water usage and drying conditions. The dryers apply a dual inverter heat pump to improve energy efficiency and reduce fabric damage, and they can be installed without exhaust ducts or wall drilling, enhancing usability in commercial spaces.
Supply is also expanding in the North American market. Following product supply last year to CSC Serviceworks, North America's No. 1 laundry solutions corporations, LG Electronics significantly increased volumes this year. It has also been supplying products to Wash, the No. 2 player in North America, since 2024.
LG Electronics is highlighting core component technologies, including the inverter DD (Direct Drive) motor, and the store management platform "LaundryCrew" as competitive strengths. The inverter DD motor directly connects the drum and motor, reducing vibration and noise while improving durability and energy efficiency.
LaundryCrew is a management platform that allows real-time monitoring and remote control of multiple washers and dryers. It provides error alerts and smart diagnostics to enable quick response when product issues occur.
Lim Gi-yong, head of overseas B2B sales at LG Electronics HS, said, "We will continue to expand our push into the global commercial laundry market based on industry-leading technology and proven management solutions."
