Synopsys Korea said on the 3rd that it appointed Moon Seong-su, former vice president at Siemens Digital Industries Software, as head of its Simulation & Analysis (S&A) business. Synopsys said Moon will strengthen cooperation with Korea's manufacturing customers in semiconductors, autos, shipbuilding, and defense, and lead the integrated solutions business of Synopsys and Ansys.
Taking office officially on July 6, Moon has handled sales, customer support, and business operations in the engineering simulation and computer-aided engineering (CAE) industry for more than 20 years. Moon began a career handling crash safety engineering at Kia. At Altair, Moon served as head of the Korea subsidiary, senior vice president for Asia-Pacific, and senior executive vice president overseeing Japan and Korea. After that, Moon worked at Siemens Digital Industries Software as vice president of the global simulation institutional sector.
Moon Seok-hwan, head of Synopsys Asia-Pacific S&A, said of Moon Seong-su's appointment, "a figure who has led organizational innovation and digital transformation across multiple industries," and "the right person to strengthen cooperation with Korean customers and deliver the integrated value of Synopsys and Ansys."
Moon Seong-su said, "By combining Ansys' engineering simulation portfolio with Synopsys' electronic design automation (EDA) solutions, we will expand cooperation with Korean customers."
