Melon said on the 3rd that it has launched a bundled plan through SK Telecom's subscription platform "T Universe" that allows users to use YouTube Premium Lite and Melon together.
The new plan lets users watch YouTube videos without ads while also using Melon music streaming. It is up to about 20% cheaper than buying each service separately.
There are two bundles. First, the plan combining YouTube Premium Lite (8500 won per month) and Melon "Mobile Streaming Club" (7590 won per month) costs 13,900 won per month, 13.6% cheaper than buying separately (16,090 won). Until Dec. 2027, an additional 1,000 won discount brings the price to 12,900 won, offering about a 20% discount compared with separate purchases.
A bundle that combines YouTube Premium Lite and Melon "Streaming Club" (8690 won per month) was also launched. This plan costs 14,900 won per month, 13.3% cheaper than buying separately (17,190 won), and is available at 13,900 won with a 1,000 won discount until Dec. 2027. With the discount applied, it is about 19% cheaper than separate purchases.
However, the additional discounts for both plans are offered only through Dec. 2027. Users who sign up at the discounted rate must cancel and re-subscribe to continue receiving the benefit afterward.
To mark the launch, Melon is running a promotion through the 21st. Subscribers will receive 5,000 won in Naver Pay points for the first month's payment and an additional 5,000 won for the second month's payment, for benefits of up to 10,000 won.
