SK Telecom will expand its smart device lineup targeting the running community and enhance benefits for participating in running events.
SK Telecom said on the 2nd it will newly introduce the GPS smartwatch brand Garmin's Forerunner 70 and Forerunner 265, and the bone-conduction earphone brand Shokz's OpenRun Pro 2.
Forerunner 70 is the only product sold by a domestic mobile carrier through SK Telecom's exclusive partnership with Garmin. It is an entry-level model aimed at customers starting running or looking to log everyday workouts.
OpenRun Pro 2 improves the low-frequency expression limits of existing bone-conduction earphones and is receiving strong responses among runners.
The newly added Garmin and Shokz products are included in the "smart device installment discount" available to customers on the Best Max, Best Pro, Best 109, and Direct 5G 76 plans. For example, customers subscribed to the Best Max plan can get up to 24,000 won off per month on device installments if they choose this benefit.
SK Telecom will also expand running-related customer benefits. On Sept. 19 in Gyeongju, it will participate as the main sponsor of the "2026 Infinite Challenge Run in Gyeongju," and it will hold a drawing for entry tickets for customers who purchase the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold 8, or Galaxy Z Flip 8 from SK Telecom.
In addition, customers who subscribe to a plan eligible for the smart device installment discount and purchase a wearable device will be given an additional chance to enter the event ticket drawing.
Going forward, SK Telecom will run products and benefits for runners under the Run Mate program and will continue to roll out services that support workout experiences, such as expanding partnerships with running specialty brands.
Yoon Jae-woong, head of product and brand at SK Telecom, said, "We have prepared new products and benefits so customers who enjoy running can purchase wearable devices more conveniently and enjoy diverse running experiences," and added, "We will continue working to provide differentiated experiences for runner customers."
