Kakao Mobility said on the 31st that it signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Korea Transportation Safety Authority (TS) to respond to changes in the future mobility environment and to promote data-based traffic safety cooperation projects.
The agreement was prepared to establish a public-private cooperation system for traffic safety policy collaboration, the spread of a nationwide traffic safety culture, and a future mobility data cooperation system. The two organizations plan to jointly promote various cooperative projects to advance future mobility technologies and improve traffic safety.
TS will support technical reviews and policy advice related to the future mobility data cooperation system, and Kakao Mobility plans to contribute to enhancing traffic safety by leveraging its platform and infrastructure. They also plan to gradually expand traffic safety cooperation projects based on mobility data.
TS Chairman Jeong Yong-sik said, "In the era of future mobility, advanced technology and traffic safety must develop together to create a safe mobility environment," adding, "Through cooperation with Kakao Mobility, we will lay the groundwork for the safe use of new technologies such as Autonomous Driving and expand traffic safety services that the public can feel."
