Google is officially launching in Korea its personal artificial intelligence (AI) agent "Gemini Spark," which can work around the clock.
Google Korea said that starting on the 30th it will roll out Gemini Spark to users on the Google AI Pro and higher plans.
Gemini Spark is a personal AI agent powered by Google's AI model "Gemini 3.6." Even when a laptop is closed or a smartphone screen is locked, it continues user-designated tasks based on cloud infrastructure. Without additional setup, it can integrate with Google's Workspace tools such as Gmail, Google Docs, and Google Sheets.
For example, Gemini Spark can automatically add the contents of flight or hotel booking confirmation emails to a schedule spreadsheet, or search the Gmail inbox over the past year for emails containing words such as "subscription renewal," "monthly payment," and "auto transfer," then organize the service name and monthly fee.
Google Korea said it advocates an "active AI" that goes beyond a passive AI assistant that merely answers questions to one that performs real tasks on behalf of users.
Google Korea emphasized, "Users have control over whether to enable features and which apps to link, and the system is securely designed to always obtain prior user approval before carrying out important tasks such as payments or sending emails."
