Samsung Electronics will pay a cash dividend of 374 won per share on both common and preferred shares for the second quarter of this year.
Samsung Electronics said on the 30th during a conference call following its second-quarter earnings release that the board earlier in the day approved second-quarter dividends of 374 won per share for both common and preferred shares. The payout is scheduled for August.
Samsung Electronics is maintaining the annual regular dividends aggregates at 9.8 trillion won under its 2024–2026 shareholder return policy. Accordingly, the quarterly dividends amount is about 2.45 trillion won.
Regarding its shareholder return policy, the company said, "As we mentioned on the conference call on the previous quarter, we will faithfully carry out what we previously promised," and added, "We will update the relevant details soon so we can share them."
Samsung Electronics set a policy to use 50% of free cash flow (FCF) over three years from 2024 through this year as shareholder return resources to enhance shareholder value, including dividends and share buybacks and cancellations. Securities firms projected that, with a sharp surge in this year's results, FCF will be in the 200 trillion won range, putting shareholder return resources at about 120 trillion to 140 trillion won. This year's annual regular dividends amount is 9.8 trillion won.
In the market, there is interest in when Samsung Electronics will announce a new shareholder return policy after this year, when the current policy ends, and in the scale of share repurchases and cancellations.
