LG Electronics said the improvement in profit and loss from one-off revenue in the second quarter this year related to a tariff refund, minus the associated one-off expense, was about 300 billion won.
Park Won-jae, head of IR (senior vice president) at LG Electronics, said on the 30th during the conference call on second-quarter results, "In line with U.S. government guidance, we proceeded with the refund process for tariffs previously paid and received the full amount in the second quarter."
Park said, "The total impact of one-off profit and loss in the second quarter, after deducting one-off expense from one-off revenue including the tariff refund, is around 300 billion won."
He added, "We expect uncertainty surrounding tariffs to persist for the time being," and said, "We will continue structural improvements to minimize business volatility from external variables through supply chain optimization using our global production network and a flexible pricing policy."
