Samsung Electronics' foundry business unit said it will reorganize its business structure around artificial intelligence (AI) and high-performance computing (HPC) to improve profitability.
Samsung Electronics said on the 30th during its second-quarter earnings conference call, "In the second half, advanced-node process sales are expected to exceed half of total revenue," and "The sales mix for AI and HPC applications is also projected to expand from the high-10% range last year to more than 30% this year."
The company expected profitability to enter a full-fledged improvement phase as it reorganizes its business structure around high-growth markets such as AI and HPC.
It also explained that it plans to keep expanding orders for advanced nodes and AI/HPC products to strengthen the foundation for mid- to long-term growth.
