SK hynix posted a net profit of 93.9 trillion won, far exceeding operating profit, after reflecting 63.3 trillion won in gains on the sale and valuation of investment assets in the second quarter.
Song Hyun-jong, head of the Corporate Center (president) at SK hynix, said on the conference call for the 2026 second-quarter earnings release on the 29th, "As 1.1 trillion won in foreign exchange–related gains from a rise in foreign exchange rates and 63.3 trillion won in gains on the sale and valuation of investment assets were reflected, non-operating profit came to 62.2 trillion won."
Song said, "As a result, profit before income tax expense was 122.7 trillion won, and net profit was 93.9 trillion won," adding, "The net profit margin was 118%."
SK hynix's cash and cash equivalents at the end of the second quarter totaled 88 trillion won, up 33.6 trillion won from the end of the previous quarter. Borrowing fund decreased by 700 billion won to 18.6 trillion won, and net cash expanded to 69.4 trillion won. The borrowing fund ratio improved by 5 percentage points from the previous quarter to 7%.
