SK hynix will expand its total investment, including capital expenditures, to the high 40 trillion won range this year. It will move up the mass production schedule for M15X in Cheongju, North Chungcheong, and execute investment in the semiconductor cluster in Yongin, Gyeonggi.
SK hynix said on a second-quarter 2026 earnings conference call on the 29th, "We are making investments to expand production capacity to respond to solid customer demand and mid- to long-term growth opportunities," adding, "With the shortened timetable and increased investment, we expect this year's investment to be in the high 40 trillion won range."
SK hynix also said, "To strengthen supply responsiveness in the near term, we are moving up the M15X mass production schedule, and after opening the cleanroom of the first Yongin fab in early 2027, we are investing so we can quickly ramp up capacity."
The company will also build, over the mid to long term, the advanced packaging plant P&T7, the new NAND production base M17, and a new domestic semiconductor cluster to meet long-term demand after the Yongin cluster. The company said, "Actual fab construction, equipment installation, and capacity expansion will be pursued in phases after comprehensively considering the visibility of customer demand and investment efficiency," adding, "We will maintain our capital expenditure principles to strengthen both supply responsiveness and financial soundness."
