Dreamtech, a comprehensive electronic components and smart medical device manufacturer, said on the 28th that it completed the transfer of its Dongtan business sites in Gyeonggi Province, reorganized its semiconductor organization and operating base, and will move to expand its business in the second half.
Dreamtech plans to use the transfer of the Dongtan business sites as a turning point to shift its domestic bases to a research and development (R&D) and customer response focus, while reorganizing its manufacturing functions into overseas production bases such as Vietnam and India to increase response speed and operating efficiency by business.
It also reorganized its organization to expand the semiconductor business. Dreamtech created a Device Solutions (DS) division and appointed Lee Sang-jae as head of the division. Lee, an expert in semiconductor design, testing, and quality who served in roles including design at the DRAM Development Office at Samsung Electronics, executive in charge of testing (TEST) technology, and vice president of quality at Test & System Package (TSP), is expected to lead the expansion of Dreamtech's memory module and solid-state drive (SSD) and PSSD businesses.
It will make production investments in parallel. Dreamtech decided to invest a total of 25.4 billion won in expanding the memory module production line at its India plant and building utility and information technology (IT) infrastructure, and it is proceeding with related work with the goal of completing the line expansion by September.
It is also preparing for mass supply of products for artificial intelligence (AI) data centers and servers for a major North American client. It is simultaneously conducting global client quality tests on key product lines, SSD and PSSD approval procedures, and mass production preparations.
Lee Sang-jae said, "We are rapidly concretizing the memory module business based on our India production base," adding, "We will complete the line expansion by September and prepare for mass supply of AI data center and server products for a major North American client, while growing the semiconductor division into a pillar on par with our existing core business of component modules for IT devices."
