Nvidia will move to establish a research institute with Seoul National University for joint artificial intelligence (AI) research and training of specialists.
Nvidia said on the 25th that it is pushing cooperation with Seoul National University to establish the "Nvidia AI Technology Center (NVAITC)."
The two sides plan to focus on AI research, training of specialists, and operation of education programs centered on the center.
Joint research fields include foundation models, accelerated computing, physical AI, and scientific AI. They will also jointly seek ways to build computing infrastructure to support large-scale AI research.
Research using Nvidia's open AI model "Nemotron" and the world foundation model "Cosmos" is also planned.
Through cooperation with Seoul National University, Nvidia aims to strengthen the AI research capabilities of domestic researchers and systematically nurture AI specialists needed in industry.
Previously, Nvidia also announced plans with Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) to establish the "Nvidia-KAIST AI Joint Research Lab" within the Seoul Kim Jae-cheol AI Graduate School.
The lab will conduct AI research specialized for Korean and domestic industries, and operate multi-year cooperation programs to support domestic researchers and foster AI talent.
