Hancom said on the 23rd that it will expand its artificial intelligence transition (AX) business in the nuclear power sector by supplying the AI document-writing solution "Hancom Assistant" to Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power (KHNP).
Hancom linked Hancom Assistant to KHNP's in-house, nuclear-specialized Generative AI platform Hy-NuRI to build a companywide smart document-writing environment.
This project is a case of integrating an in-house Generative AI platform with a commercial AI document-writing solution and applying it to real work in the highly security-sensitive nuclear power industry. KHNP employees can use Hy-NuRI together with Hancom Assistant to carry out document writing and information retrieval tasks more efficiently.
Hancom Assistant is integrated with Hy-NuRI to draft documents based on internal knowledge data in the fields of nuclear plant operation, power generation, construction, and safety. With natural-language commands alone, users can search for needed information or generate report drafts, and it also supports sentence proofreading and document summarization. It provides functions for document creation through data linkage and for applying standard templates.
Through this, the company said users can quickly leverage needed information without checking one by one the nuclear maintenance manuals, company rules, and safety materials that run to tens of thousands of pages, reducing repetitive document-writing tasks and improving productivity.
In particular, Hancom Assistant operates within KHNP's closed network environment. It was designed to safely use Generative AI even in an environment isolated from external networks, securing the security of nuclear data and Data Sovereignty.
