Krafton said on the 23rd that it made a strategic investment in the global game commerce infrastructure corporations Neon Commerce (hereafter Neon). Krafton plans to use this investment to build its own payment system and strengthen its global payment capabilities.
The investment is part of Krafton's strategy to expand touchpoints with global users and strengthen a user-centered ecosystem.
Neon is a corporations that helps game publishers (distribution and release companies) build, operate, and expand user-facing ecosystems. It provides integrated support for a payment system that consolidates various payment methods into one, responses to taxes and regulations by country, and the creation of online stores operated directly by game companies.
Krafton plans to internalize payment service capabilities through close cooperation with Neon and provide a more stable and convenient purchase experience to global users. Based on its own payment services going forward, it aims to improve payment convenience while creating an environment where it can directly offer users a variety of benefits and services.
Thomas Go, head of Krafton's publishing platform division, said, "This investment is an important starting point for strengthening the service foundation that consolidates Krafton directly with global users," adding, "Krafton will provide better purchase experiences and benefits based on the game commerce infrastructure provided by Neon, and will expand a user-centered service ecosystem."
Chris Port, CEO of Neon Commerce, said, "The game commerce infrastructure we will build with Krafton will set a new standard for the game industry as a whole going forward."
