Shinsegae I&C said that starting on the 22nd it began domestic distribution of Meta's artificial intelligence (AI) smart glasses, "Ray-Ban Meta" and "Oakley Meta," from Facebook's parent company Meta.
Shinsegae I&C, Meta's device distributor, will supply the products to domestic online and offline channels, excluding Ray-Ban's and Oakley's own sales channels. Until now, Shinsegae I&C has handled domestic master distribution for devices of global corporations such as Google.
Ray-Ban Meta and Oakley Meta are wearable devices that combine cameras and audio functions with Meta's Conversational AI assistant, "Meta AI." While wearing the glasses, users can call up AI with voice commands to check nearby information or use various features such as taking photos and videos, listening to music, making calls, and real-time translation.
Shinsegae I&C is selling three second-generation Ray-Ban Meta models (Wayfarer, Headliner, Skyler) for 690,000 won and one Oakley Meta model (Vanguard) for 900,000 won. Starting on the 22nd, they are available for purchase at Electromart inside E-MART stores nationwide and Lotte Himart, as well as on SSG.com and the online malls of the three mobile carriers—SK Telecom, KT, and LG Uplus—and at select authorized dealers.
Jung Sang-ho, head of Platform BIZ at Shinsegae I&C, said, "Following Meta Quest, Shinsegae I&C is expanding its distribution lineup to Meta's AI glasses, strengthening device business cooperation with Meta," adding, "We will continue to expand cooperation with global corporations, including Meta, and bolster our capabilities in product sourcing and distribution so we can quickly introduce innovative devices to the domestic market."
