Zoom Communications (Zoom) said on the 22nd that it will appoint Carlos Quaderi as head of Asia-Pacific. Quaderi will officially take office on Aug. 1.
Reporting directly to Graham Geddes, Zoom's chief sales and growth officer, Quaderi will oversee go-to-market strategy for Korea, Australia and New Zealand, and Asia excluding Japan across the Asia-Pacific region.
Previously, as Zoom's head of Asia, Quaderi led regional strategy and sales execution in Southeast Asia, Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, and Taiwan. Going forward, he will oversee the broader Asia-Pacific region and work with regional and global leadership to drive the company's strategic initiatives, focusing on expanding the customer experience (CX) business, the small and medium-sized businesses (SMB) institutional sector, and partner channels.
An industry veteran with more than 30 years of experience, Quaderi has held key roles at Workday, Amazon Web Services (AWS), and Microsoft. At each of these corporations, he led Asia-Pacific and Japan market strategy and enterprise business growth, and he will continue to oversee Zoom's Asia operations during the transition while being based in Singapore.
Zoom said the appointment is a strategic move to respond to changes as corporations across Asia-Pacific begin adopting AI in earnest.
Quaderi, Zoom's head of Asia-Pacific, said, "Corporations in the Asia-Pacific region are changing faster than ever, and they need technology that can keep pace with this speed while maintaining human connection and the momentum of work," and added, "I am very pleased to be able to create new possibilities with regional customers and partners through Zoom's AI-based 'System of Action' vision and open ecosystem."
