Indie game publisher RedbrickHouse said on the 21st that it secured financial investment from Kakao Ventures, Devsisters Ventures, SmartStudy Ventures, MainStreet Ventures, and Zion Investment, among others.
RedbrickHouse is an indie game publisher founded last month by former Neowiz members. It discovers promising developers at home and abroad and supports game development and publishing (distribution), as well as investment and fundraising. Together with developers, it designs go-to-market strategies for each title and supports overall growth, from global service operations to intellectual property (IP) expansion and ancillary businesses.
RedbrickHouse noted that while Korea's indie game ecosystem has the foundation to create competitive games based on strong development capabilities and abundant human capital, it is not easy to gain attention in a market flooded with new releases. To address this, it works closely with indie developers from the development stage so they can establish systematic launch and marketing strategies and supports their global expansion.
Co-CEOs Kim Hyuk-jin and Hong Ji-cheol of RedbrickHouse discovered numerous global indie games at Neowiz and led investment, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), and publishing. A specialist in China's game business who successfully led China game license (banhao) approvals and entry into the local market is also a key member.
Co-CEOs Kim Hyuk-jin and Hong Ji-cheol said, "We will be a reliable partner that works together from development to entry into the global market so promising developers can maximize their creativity."
