ASML, the world's largest semiconductor equipment corporations in the Netherlands, will offer stock compensation worth €20,000 (about 34 million won) to employees who stay with the company from 2027 to 2030 to prevent the loss of skilled workers.
According to Reuters on the 21st, ASML plans to implement a "Conditional Stock Grant" system starting in January next year. The specific payout terms are being coordinated.
ASML said in an email statement that it "will offer conditional stock compensation to all eligible employees." The total compensation employees can receive if they work from 2027 to 2030 is €20,000.
The move comes as competition to secure skilled workers to handle advanced processes and equipment intensifies with growing demand for artificial intelligence (AI) chips. Major semiconductor corporations such as Samsung Electronics, SK hynix, and Taiwan's TSMC are also expanding bonuses and stock compensation as they seek to secure key talent.
ASML employs about 44,500 people worldwide. More than half of its total staff work in the Netherlands, and about 8,500 work in the United States.
ASML's revenue for the second quarter of this year (April–June 2026) rose 6.4% from the previous quarter to €9.326 billion. Net profit increased 5.8% over the same period to €2.918 billion. Both revenue and net profit beat market expectations.
