ITCEN PNS, a subsidiary of the ITCEN Group, said on the 20th it will ramp up its project to transition to post-quantum cryptography (PQC) in preparation for the quantum computing era.
ITCEN PNS is pushing a "quantum-safe transition platform" business that goes beyond simply supplying PQC algorithms to identify cryptographic assets within customer systems, analyze risk levels, and then convert actual operating environments to a PQC foundation. To that end, it has built a phased transition framework that combines the cryptographic asset identification solution "Edge CS," the "Edge Crypto" cryptographic library based on KCMVP certification, and a PQC-based secure communication application model.
An ITCEN PNS official said, "Recently, the PQC market at home and abroad is moving away from discussions focused on algorithm standardization and technical verification to the 'execution phase,' where drawing up practical transition plans and identifying cryptographic assets are key."
Edge CS, the core solution for PQC transition proposed by ITCEN PNS, analyzes cryptographic libraries within running processes to automatically identify cryptographic assets and organizes and manages them systematically in the form of a CBOM (cryptographic bill of materials).
It also provides a technology base suited to the domestic security verification framework through Edge Crypto, a cryptographic library based on KCMVP certification.
ITCEN PNS's PQC transition model proceeds in three stages: "detect → analyze → apply." The company said this is to secure "crypto agility," which allows an organization to quickly replace or expand its cryptographic system when a specific cryptographic algorithm becomes vulnerable or policies change.
Park Won-gyu, CEO of ITCEN PNS, said, "Many corporations and institutions recognize the need for PQC, yet often feel at a loss about where to start," adding, "ITCEN PNS will lead markets with high security requirements—public, finance, defense, and manufacturing—through an 'execution-type PQC migration framework' that discovers cryptographic assets with Edge CS, provides a verified cryptographic foundation with Edge Crypto, and delivers a one-stop transition all the way to the actual operating environment."
