KT said on the 20th that it will offer budget roaming plans and locally tailored partner benefits for travelers to Southeast Asia for the summer vacation season.
Through Oct. 31, KT will introduce a "Southeast Asia budget roaming" plan that can be used in major Southeast Asian countries, including Taiwan, Vietnam, the Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia and Malaysia. The Southeast Asia budget roaming plan costs 25,000 won for seven days and provides 3GB of data and 30 minutes of voice calls. After the base data is used up, customers can continue to use data at speeds of up to 400Kbps.
To make travel more convenient locally in Southeast Asia, KT also prepared discounted benefits through a partnership with Grab (GRAB). Eligible customers are those subscribed to Together Roaming, Y Together Roaming, Budget Roaming, and All-day Roaming Basic, Plus and Premium.
For customers visiting seven countries—Vietnam, the Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore and Cambodia—a Grab Travel Pass code is automatically sent via text message upon entry. After registering the code in the Grab app, customers can receive discounts worth up to 100,000 won when using ride-hailing, food delivery, and grocery shopping services. The benefits are available until supplies run out.
Kang Ihwan, senior vice president and head of KT's Customer Service Division, said, "We planned this promotion so customers visiting Taiwan and Southeast Asia during the summer vacation season can use roaming services at reasonable prices and enjoy partner benefits," adding, "We will continue to prepare various benefits so customers can conveniently use roaming services overseas."
