ATON said on the 16th that it has joined the public-interest initiative "Project Canopy," which aims to spread AI-based vulnerability defense technology, as a defending partner.
Project Canopy is a public-interest AI security consortium launched in June by the incorporated association Project Plasma. Its goal is to spread AI-based vulnerability detection and patching technologies to the open-source ecosystem and to essential public-facing infrastructure with weak security capabilities, such as schools, hospitals, and public institutions. Park Se-jun, a former white-hat hacker and the CEO of Theori Inc., is serving as Chairperson.
Defending partners can receive and apply vulnerability and patch information identified by Canopy to their own security systems and request security reviews for open-source projects and infrastructure that require analysis. ATON plans to spread the preemptive threat response capabilities secured through this to its clients and across the industry.
ATON established a Security Center last year and has expanded its enterprise security business by operating AI-based integrated security services. With participation in this project, the company plans to apply the vulnerability response information shared by Canopy to its own security systems while also contributing to strengthening the public-interest security ecosystem.
