Kolon Benit said on the 16th it was selected as the lead organization for the "2026 win-win artificial intelligence transformation (AX) leading model support project" promoted by the Korea Technology and Information Promotion Agency for SMEs (TIPA). The Korea Productivity Center will participate as a collaborating institution.
The win-win AX leading model support project uses large corporations' manufacturing innovation capabilities to support enterprise-wide artificial intelligence (AI) transformation of small and midsize manufacturers and to build and spread smart factory leading models.
Kolon Benit will oversee the selection of adopting corporations and the establishment of AX leading models in this project. It will provide professional staffing support, project operations, consortium collaboration management, and win-win cooperation support, and plans to build an AX execution model usable on manufacturing floors.
The company will conduct a comprehensive diagnosis of participating corporations' production processes, equipment operations, quality control, and energy use environments, and provide a step-by-step support framework from designing data collection and analysis systems to applying AI models, linking with existing systems, optimizing processes, and stabilizing operations. Through this, it aims to support the creation of tangible outcomes such as productivity improvement, quality stabilization, and greater efficiency in equipment operations.
Kolon Benit plans to expand to external customers the manufacturing floor experience and data and AI technology capabilities it has accumulated over the past three years with group manufacturing affiliates such as Kolon Industries, Kolon Life Science, and Kolon Pharmaceutical. Recently, it also established the "Manufacturing DX Consulting Team," which is dedicated to digital transformation (DX) and AI transformation for manufacturing clients. The organization supports the entire process from defining problems on the manufacturing floor to task design, system construction, and advanced operations.
Lee Min-ho, Head of Team of Kolon Benit's Manufacturing DX Consulting Team, said, "As the lead organization, we will responsibly lead the entire process from discovering adopting corporations to on-site diagnosis, applying AI models, building systems, and stabilizing operations, and we will create a win-win AX leading model that delivers results felt on the manufacturing floor."
