Users of Naver's agentic search service "AI Tab" have surpassed 10 million. Naver plans to expand the service from merely displaying search results to an "actionable AI agent" that connects through to real actions such as product purchases and reservations.
Naver said on the 15th that AI Tab users reached 10 million. Since the official launch, the average number of daily queries has increased sevenfold compared with the beta period, and the number of queries entered by a single user rose 1.7 times. It also showed that multi-turn conversations, in which users exchange follow-up questions after the first question, have expanded.
AI Tab provides answers by combining Naver's accumulated search technology with blog and cafe content, shopping reviews, and purchase data. For tasks such as comparing electronics and daily necessities or recommending fashion items, the company said it reduced the time from information search to purchase decision by as much as 60% to 70%.
Starting today, Naver will add an AI Tab chat window at the bottom of AI Briefing. The aim is to let users move straight to follow-up questions after checking the search summary. Within this month, it will also strengthen a service that analyzes product images taken or uploaded via Smart Lens and connects them with AI Tab's product exploration and purchase functions.
In Aug., it will introduce a real estate agent that recommends listings by using Naver Pay real estate data and users' asset information. The Whale browser will be equipped with a dedicated agent that supports webpage summaries and viewing browsing history. Within the year, it also plans to unveil a health agent that combines medical information, user experiences from Naver Cafes, and searches for hospitals and supplements.
Kim Gwang-hyeon, Naver's chief data and content officer (CDO), said the company will strengthen search experiences that reflect the daily context of domestic users and bolster answer reliability to develop AI Tab into an everyday AI service.
