Kakao said on the 15th that it expanded the "ChatGPT for Kakao" feature to the KakaoTalk PC version as it carried out the sixth regular update of KakaoTalk.
In this update, Kakao added a message summary feature inside chat rooms so users can quickly grasp backlogged messages. When users press the "conversation summary" button in an individual chat room, it neatly shows the key points of accumulated messages at a glance. Even in a chat room entered after a long time, users can review the main content and immediately join the conversation.
Kakao also expanded the use of ChatGPT for Kakao to the KakaoTalk PC version. Without reentering settings or repeating questions, the flow used on mobile continues on PC as is. It can be accessed via the "ChatGPT" chip at the top of the Chats tab.
It also introduces a feature to regenerate photos exchanged in chat rooms using ChatGPT Image 2.0. After selecting an image in a chat room, press "Create with AI" in the top right and immediately apply desired image templates such as "anime style" and "colored pencil drawing." Without saving photos separately, users can easily convert shared images during conversations into new forms such as comics and illustrations. The feature can also be used by registering a new post in My Profile.
Chatbot (beta) is also applied to Open Chat, allowing users to check needed information through various bots without leaving the chat room. When the host selects and invites a chatbot they want to use in an Open Chat room, users can ask the chatbot questions about things like weather or stock prices and continue the conversation without moving elsewhere.
In addition, convenience was improved by adding a feature to delete messages within 24 hours after sending via KakaoTalk Channel chat. The new features included in this update apply from KakaoTalk v26.6.0 and later.
A Kakao official said, "We expanded the user experience so people can use AI more easily and conveniently across KakaoTalk's various conversation environments," and added, "We will continue to advance the service so communication in daily life and AI experiences can be naturally connected based on user feedback."
