Google assessed Korea as a key market leading global artificial intelligence (AI) innovation. It also unveiled Google's full-stack AI strategy, spanning infrastructure, models, and workflow automation, along with AI adoption cases at domestic corporations such as Samsung Electronics.
Yoon Goo, head of Google Korea, said at a press briefing for "Google AI for Business 2026" at the Shilla Hotel in Jangchung-dong, Seoul, on the 14th, "In the past, when the shift to mobile was underway, Korea was described as a global test bed, but in the AI transition, it is a battlefield where the leaders driving global AI innovation gather to compete."
Google AI for Business 2026 is an integrated event combining "Google Cloud AI Live & Labs," which introduces Google Cloud's technology and business strategy, and "Google Marketing Live," Google's annual marketing event for customers. Yoon and Ruth Sun, head of Google Cloud Korea, attended the press briefing.
Yoon said the level of AI adoption by domestic corporations is ahead of other countries. He said, "Korean corporations do not stop at using general-purpose AI models as-is, but want to combine their own data to innovate work methods and procedures," adding, "We are seeing many efforts to build capabilities that other corporations cannot easily copy."
He added, "In other countries there is a vague fear that AI could take jobs, but in Korea there is a strong tendency to think about how to use it to do work better."
Google on the day cited Samsung Electronics as a representative case of AI use by domestic corporations. Google Cloud a day earlier announced a collaboration plan under which employees of Samsung Electronics' Devices eXperience (DX) institutional sector worldwide will use the enterprise AI platform "Gemini Enterprise" for in-house work.
According to Ruth Sun, Samsung Electronics conducted a comprehensive review of model performance, security, and value for expense in the process of selecting Gemini Enterprise. Samsung Electronics employees used the product directly and offered opinions, and after rollout they have continued to share feedback from use with Google.
Samsung Electronics is using Gemini Enterprise not only for simple information searches but also to solve work-related problems based on corporate data. Going forward, based on the adoption of Gemini Enterprise, it plans to expand its use to customized AI agents that autonomously carry out complex in-house procedures.
Google highlighted its full-stack AI strategy as a differentiator in the enterprise AI market. Full-stack AI is a method of providing computing infrastructure, AI models, an orchestration platform, and a user interface connected as one system.
Google has its own AI accelerator, the tensor processing unit (TPU), the Gemini models from Google DeepMind, and the enterprise AI agent platform Gemini Enterprise. Ruth Sun emphasized, "Google is the only corporations that directly provides every layer from chips to models and platforms."
Meanwhile, "Google AI for Business 2026" runs for three days from the 14th to the 16th. The event will introduce Google AI use cases by domestic corporations such as CJ Olive Young, KakaoBank, and Weverse. "Gemini Playground," where domestic artists including Lee I-nam, Code Kunst, and Goyoson showcase media art created with Google AI, will also be operated.
