Shared mobility service GCOO said on the 14th that it is recruiting participants for the "2nd GCOO cross-country content contest."
In this contest, participants will attempt a cross-country ride from Seoul to Mokpo using GCOO e-bikes and produce their journeys as YouTube content. In the first contest held last year, 28 teams took part and created a total of 68 pieces of content.
GCOO is a domestic shared mobility platform that operates services in 17 metropolitan and provincial jurisdictions nationwide. The company plans to use its nationwide operating network to show that shared e-bikes can be used not only for short trips but also for long-distance travel.
This year's total prize pool is 11 million won, expanded from last year. The first-place team will receive 5 million won, two second-place teams will each receive 2 million won, and four third-place teams will each receive 500,000 won. All participants will receive GCOO ride credits worth 300,000 won per person during the cross-country period, and teams that upload content will get an additional 200,000 won in activity support funds.
A total of 30 teams will be recruited. Adults born in 2007 or earlier may apply, and teams must consist of two to four people. Applications are accepted in the GCOO app through the 24th, and final selections will be notified individually by email on the 27th.
Yoo Won-jin, GBike Head of Team for brand marketing, said, "Crossing the country on shared e-bikes is the most intuitive challenge that shows the possibilities of mobility GCOO proposes," adding, "We hope participants enjoy a new mobility experience with GCOO this summer and vividly record their journeys as their own content."
