xAI, the artificial intelligence (AI) division of SpaceX, the space company of Tesla CEO Elon Musk, has changed its brand name to SpaceXAI.
On the 6th (local time), xAI said on the social media platform X, "We are now SpaceXAI," announcing the rebranding.
SpaceX, which recently debuted on Nasdaq through the largest-ever initial public offering (IPO), merged xAI in Feb., integrating its space, AI, and social media businesses. The company plans in the long term to combine AI with its space operations and grow its AI infrastructure business, including space data centers.
xAI is currently posting losses, but SpaceX assessed that the AI business has strong growth potential. The company said it plans to deploy AI compute satellites that serve as space data centers starting in 2028.
