Pearl Abyss said on the 7th that it will participate with Samsung Electronics in Gamescom 2026, the world's largest game show, held in Cologne, Germany, from Aug. 26 to 30 (local time).
Visitors can check out the open-world game "Crimson Desert," which has sold more than 6 million copies since its March release, at the Samsung Electronics booth at Gamescom. Samsung Electronics will set up 30 Crimson Desert demo PCs at the booth, equipped with the world's first 6K gaming monitor, "Odyssey G8 (G80HS)," among others.
The Odyssey G8 is a 32-inch display that offers an optimal gaming environment with "dual mode," which lets users freely switch between a 6K/165Hz ultra-high-resolution mode and a 3K/330Hz ultra-high-refresh-rate mode. A company official said, "Samsung Electronics' gaming technology, which delivers the best image quality, combined with Pearl Abyss' next-generation game engine, the 'Blackspace Engine,' is expected to further elevate Crimson Desert's realistic graphics and dynamic action."
Crimson Desert sold 2 million copies on its first day, then reached 3 million in 4 days, 4 million in 12 days, 5 million in 26 days, and 6 million in 83 days, joining the ranks of the most successful Korea-made PC and console games ever.
