Kakao Entertainment said on the 7th that it sequentially released the follow-up to the popular intellectual property (IP) "Tomb Raider King"—the webtoon "Tomb Raider King: End Line" on the 5th and the web novel on the 6th—on KakaoPage. It is a follow-up series unveiled about three years after the original concluded in 2023.
"Tomb Raider King" is a flagship action-fantasy IP that reached KakaoPage's "Million Page" both as a web novel and a webtoon. The web novel recorded 120 million cumulative views in Korea, and the webtoon recorded more than 500 million cumulative views at home and abroad, achieving more than 600 million cumulative views globally.
The follow-up "Tomb Raider King: End Line" is set after the timeline of the original and tells the story of "Majesty Seo Ju-heon," a hero who saved the world and the king of relics, who, triggered by an incident surrounding his daughter from the future, comes face to face with himself from another worldline and fights against the conspiracy of relics seeking to become gods. Original author Sanjijiksong, artist 3B2S, and adapter Yoonssu (REDICE STUDIO) return to continue the existing universe.
The "Tomb Raider King" anime will also air simultaneously in Korea and Japan. In Korea, it will begin on the 9th on ANIPLUS and then be released sequentially on Netflix and Laftel, while in Japan it is slated to air on Fuji TV and Kansai TV.
Animation production is by STUDIO EEK, which made "Leafie, A Hen Into the Wild" and the "The Haunted House" series. Japanese voice actors including Hosoya Yoshimasa of "Attack on Titan," Hayami Saori of "Demon Slayer," and Suwabe Junichi of "Jujutsu Kaisen" participated, and the band QWER sang the opening track "SHOW DOWN."
