U.S. artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure operator TeraWulf said on the 6th (local time) that it signed a 20-year data center lease with Anthropic.
In a statement the same day, TeraWulf said the data center will be built at the "Justified Data" campus in Horse Cave, Kentucky. The initial data center will begin operations in the second half of next year, and the company plans to expand total facility capacity to 401 megawatts (MW) by early 2028.
Through the deal, TeraWulf projected about $19 billion (about 29 trillion won) in lease revenue over the initial lease term.
Earlier, Anthropic, which is facing a shortage of AI computing resources, leased computing capacity equivalent to more than 220,000 graphics processing units (GPUs) at the "Colossus1" data center in Memphis, Tennessee, owned by SpaceX.
