Kakao Entertainment said on the 2nd that Berriz, its fan platform, launched My Cabinet, a service that keeps records of fandom activities in a digital space.
My Cabinet is a service where fans create their own digital space, a "cabinet," and collect and store their activity records on Berriz as digital items. Posts, comments, likes, and other activity records that fans create on the platform are converted into digital items.
Also, MD products such as albums or official light sticks purchased from the Berriz Shop are turned into digital objects using their actual images and can be displayed in the cabinet. The company said it applied the growing "dakku, a Korean term for enthusiastically decorating one's diary" and "sakku" (locker decorating) trends to a global K-pop fandom service.
In addition, fans can keep photos that artists posted on Berriz in a Polaroid format, or decorate their cabinets using artist-specific album graphics and character stickers.
Berriz will roll out a total of 45 digital cabinets and more than 450 types of digital items based on a wide range of K-culture IP that connects with fans through Berriz and the Berriz Shop, including artists such as IU, Monsta X, Ive, (G)I-dle, and Woodz.
To mark the launch, Berriz is running the "Thump-thump! Berriz first cabinet challenge" event. Through the 10th, fans who open their first cabinet and complete the tutorial mission will receive digital rewards—an artist poster and a keyring—to decorate their cabinets themselves.
Kakao Entertainment said, "My Cabinet will be a special digital space where global fans record their precious moments with artists and their devotion in their own way," adding, "Going forward, Berriz, as a 'playground for global fandoms,' will provide diverse experiences that allow fans to communicate and participate with even more enjoyment."
