SK AX will cooperate with KEPCO Engineering & Construction Company (KEPCO E&C) on artificial intelligence transformation (AX) in the power generation and energy industries. The plan is to boost industrial competitiveness by improving operational efficiency through artificial intelligence (AI) from power plant design to maintenance.
SK AX said on the 2nd that it signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for AX cooperation in the power generation and energy industries with KEPCO Engineering & Construction Company (KEPCO E&C) at the SK U Tower in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province. The signing was attended by SK AX President Kim Wan-jong and KEPCO Engineering & Construction Company (KEPCO E&C) President Kim Tae-gyun, along with executives from both companies.
Through this agreement, the two companies will push for a phased AI transition from back-office tasks such as management to core business areas such as power plant design and operations.
KEPCO Engineering & Construction Company (KEPCO E&C) will phase in SK AX's AI platforms "AXgenticWire AiPMO" and "AXgenticWire NPO Agent Builder." AiPMO is a project management platform that supports the entire process with AI, from proposals for power generation and energy projects to schedule and expense management, risk checks, and performance management. NPO Agent Builder is a no-code AI agent development platform that enables on-site employees to create and use AI agents that perform repetitive tasks such as technical document search and summarization or design document review.
Along with this, the two companies will jointly identify AI use cases tailored to the power generation and energy industries and plan to jointly develop an offshore wind optimal design, an AI smart control system, and an offshore wind O&M platform with generation forecasting, predictive maintenance, and asset management functions to pursue entry into domestic and overseas markets.
SK AX President Kim Wan-jong said, "The power generation and energy industries are fields where demand for AI innovation is rapidly expanding, from design to operations and maintenance," adding, "through this cooperation, we will link processes, operating systems, and governance across the power generation and energy industries into an AI augmentation system that delivers tangible results."
KEPCO Engineering & Construction Company (KEPCO E&C) President Kim Tae-gyun said, "In the power generation and engineering fields, AX is not a choice but a must-do task, and it is time to create innovations that are practically helpful to the field and frontline," adding, "we will present a new innovation standard for the future power generation industry by combining the world-class expertise held by KEPCO Engineering & Construction Company (KEPCO E&C) with SK AX's AI technological capabilities."
