Samsung Electronics will join as the official production sponsor of tvN's Monday-Tuesday drama "Going to work again tomorrow!" The aim is to use the drama to broaden consumer touchpoints for artificial intelligence (AI) appliances and the "AI Home" ecosystem.
Samsung Electronics said on the 1st that its support for Studio Dragon's drama production is intended to introduce its lineup of AI appliances and AI Home features. "Going to work again tomorrow!" is an office romance drama set at an appliance company, dealing with office workers' jobs and growth. Seo In-guk and Park Ji-hyun appear.
In the drama, Samsung Electronics' AI appliances and Digital Appliances Division appear as key elements. In the story, the main characters are set as employees on a global electronics company's product planning team. The process of planning and developing AI appliances is covered as major episodes.
Early episodes showed the development process of a refrigerator ice maker. In a scene where the main character Cha Ji-yoon visits an appliance factory, Samsung Electronics' Gwangju campus was used as the filming backdrop. Some scenes also introduce product features, such as Cha Ji-yoon testing the Bixby voice recognition performance of the "Bespoke AI Ice Water Purifier."
Samsung Electronics not only provided product sponsorship but also offered actual business sites as filming locations. Laboratories, product development rooms, the Gwangju factory, and bus stops within the campus were used as drama backdrops. On-site consulting was also provided. By giving the production team interviews with employees of Samsung Electronics' DA Division and sharing work experiences, the appliance development process was reflected in the drama's setup.
"Going to work again tomorrow!" will air not only in Korea but also in key regions including the United States, Europe, Japan, Taiwan, and Southeast Asia. Samsung Electronics plans to use this to raise awareness of AI appliances in the global market. A Samsung Electronics official said, "This drama collaboration was planned to convey the value that the AI appliance development process and products provide to consumers," adding, "It will serve as an opportunity to promote Samsung Electronics' AI appliance technology in the global market."
